POINTS

What you will build

A WordPress site where you can destroy the web server and your content survives.

Starting point: you only need a Vultr account. This challenge is self-contained, so you can do it without having done any other.

The plan

  1. Create a Vultr Managed Database for MySQL or MariaDB
  2. Deploy an instance with Nginx and PHP
  3. Install WordPress and point it at the managed database
  4. Restrict the database to your web server's IP only
  5. Add HTTPS and publish a post
  6. Destroy the web server, rebuild it, reconnect, and show your post is still there
BASH
sudo mysql -h DB_HOST -P DB_PORT -u USER -p

How you will be judged

  • The database is not open to the internet
  • Credentials are not in a public repo or screenshot
  • Content survived the rebuild

Destroy everything you created when you are done so you are not billed for it.

Requirements

Managed database in use

Database access limited to the web server

Site served over HTTPS

Content survives a rebuilt web server
