POINTS

What you will do

Turn real experience building on Vultr into a guide that teaches both the how and the why.

Starting point: you only need a Vultr account. This challenge is self-contained, so you can do it without having done any other.

The requirements

  • A solution that combines at least three Vultr services
  • An architecture diagram and a short explanation of why each service was chosen
  • Prerequisites, numbered steps, expected output after every major step and a troubleshooting section
  • A cost estimate for running it for a month, and a clean-up section
  • A second path through the same build using the Vultr API, CLI or Terraform
  • A section on what to change for production: security, backups, scaling and monitoring
  • Published somewhere public: a blog, a repository or the community

The plan

  1. Choose a solution you have built and can explain end to end
  2. Write the guide, then run through it yourself on a fresh account and fix every gap
  3. Add the diagram, the cost estimate and the production notes
  4. Publish it
  5. Ask three people of different experience levels to follow it without your help and record where each got stuck
  6. Revise the guide using their feedback and note what changed

Good topics

  • Deploy a three-tier app on VKE with a managed database and object storage
  • Build a secure private network with VPC, NAT gateway and firewall groups
  • Serve an open LLM on Cloud GPU behind a load balancer with monitoring
  • Migrate a monolith to Kubernetes with a CI/CD pipeline and zero downtime

How you will be judged

  • Three people finished it without your help
  • Readers learn why, not just what to type
  • Commands, versions and screenshots are accurate and current
  • You changed the guide after real feedback

Credit your sources, use placeholder values for secrets and never include real keys or tokens in examples.
